Your location
When you tap Find the qibla, your browser asks for permission to read your location and gives the coordinates to the page running on your device. The qibla bearing is worked out there, in your browser. Your coordinates are never sent to our server, and we do not store them — not on the server, and not in your browser between visits.
Postcode lookup
If you choose to enter a postcode instead, your browser sends that postcode directly to postcodes.io, a free open-data service, to convert it into coordinates. That request goes from your device to them; it does not pass through us. We do not keep the postcode afterwards.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies, runs no advertising, and includes no third-party analytics or tracking scripts. There is nothing here to consent to, which is why you were not shown a banner.
Working offline
The site installs a small service worker so it keeps working without a connection. It stores a copy of the page and its static files in your browser’s cache. It holds no personal data, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Server logs
Like any website, requests for pages reach a web server that keeps standard technical logs. These are used to keep the site running and are not used to build a profile of you.
